International Causes

Rotary Tauranga Sunrise Club is dedicated to causes that build international relationships, improve lives and create a better world for people.

Vanuatu

Our International committee focuses on supporting the needs of the people in Vanuatu. This is done in projects such as Threads across the Pacific, which provides sewing machines and teaches the local community how to sew clothing for their children and community, as well as an income stream for tourists. Book collections from schools and libraries in our region and sent across to Vanuatu.

ROMAC

ROMAC (Rotary Oceania Medial Aid for Children) is a humanitarian program that provides urgent, life-changing medical treatment to children who need it the most. We have changed the lives of more than 300 children from 20 countries, since 1988.

Our club supported Vinna from Vanuatu, who first came to ROMAC in 2017 and followed a two-year journey to repair multiple fractures and an infection of her right leg.

Ending Polio

Together, We End Polio.

Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for more than 35 years. Our goal of ridding the world of this disease is closer than ever. W ith the help of the Gates Foundation, we're nearly there.

Today, polio remains endemic only in Afghanistan and Pakistan. But it’s crucial to continue working to keep other countries polio-free.
