The day was bright and breezy. The crowds were enthusiastic. Families and teams of families gathered to take part and explore the great K Valley.

"WOW" many said as they negotiated tracks they never knew existed. Some had all the gear to help with navigation. Some were experienced in orienteering and knew what to do. And many didn't. All you needed was a bike! The challenges were challenging and the Swamp Monster was ?.....well he was the Swamp Monster.

Almost 50 teams participated - it was a great day out for the family, and others. Sausages were hot and yummy with onions. Timing was recorded and cyclists gave instructions to kids, argued, and at the end of the day, a good time was had by all.

Our celebrity rider Vince told us all the legend of Kopurererua Valley and congratulated the prize winners. The lucky winner for a voucher for a new bike from My Ride, and lots of other give-aways were distributed. And it was all over by 2.30pm

The profits from the event were donated to the Graeme Dingle Foundation to help Aotearoa to be the best place in the world to be young, and to help young people realise their potential.
